Arunima Thappa is one of the innovation ecosystem architects of Atal tinkering labs team at AIM. She has a interdisciplinary background spanning across engineering, frontier research, emerging technologies, and public sector innovation. She aspires to take India towards Viksit bharat by 2047 by strengthening India’s innovation landscape via systemic enablement, capacity-building, and strategic ecosystem partnerships. Before joining AIM, she conducted advanced research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, contributing to a CERN-associated LHC project. Thereafter she worked at Honeywell Aerospace, where she contributed to breakthrough projects in deep learning, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and containerized systems. At AIM, she works towards optimizing the functioning of 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs and advancing AIM’s vision of establishing 50,000 ATLs across the country through scalable, technology-driven models.
Arunima’s mission is to help build a generation of fearless young innovators by ensuring that innovation, creativity, and scientific curiosity become accessible to every child in India irrespective of background or region.
